At Patioslife, we take pride in the craftsmanship and quality of our outdoor products. Our warranty is designed to give you peace of mind so that your purchase performs well under normal use. This policy applies to products purchased directly from patioslife.ca or through authorized Canadian retailers.
10 Year Limited Fade Resistant Warranty
Patioslife provides a 10 year limited warranty for fabric fading on eligible patio umbrellas. This warranty applies to noticeable fading under normal usage and exposure, provided the product has not been misused or subjected to extreme conditions.
Our fabric is engineered to stay vibrant for years.
It is tested for colourfastness to light with reference to AATCC 16 methods.
If your canopy fades significantly under normal outdoor use, we will replace the fabric at no charge after verification.
Note: “Fading” means a visible and measurable colour change due to UV exposure, not caused by mould, stains, pollution, or chemical cleaning agents. Coverage applies to the fabric canopy only and requires proof of original purchase and clear photographic evidence.
What This Warranty Covers
Fade resistance
Fabric fading resulting from exposure to sunlight and typical outdoor weather conditions. Product performance is evaluated with reference to industry standards such as AATCC 16 Colourfastness to Light. Lab results are indicative. Actual outcomes may vary by climate and use.
Mechanical defects
Faults in components such as cranks, rib connectors, or hardware that affect functionality under normal use.
Manufacturing defects
Material or workmanship defects that impair usability during the product’s intended lifespan.
Important
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser. Coverage starts on the purchase date. Proof of purchase such as an order confirmation or receipt is required for all claims.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
To ensure transparency, the following are excluded from coverage:

Damage caused by misuse, accidents, abuse, or neglect

Wear and tear from inappropriate exposure such as leaving an umbrella open in strong winds or storms

Unauthorised modifications or use of third party replacement parts

Minor colour variation, normal cosmetic imperfections, or personal preference

Products from unauthorised resellers or second hand platforms

Damage caused by chemicals, extreme heat, fire, or environmental hazards outside typical use

Any indirect or consequential loss such as property damage or loss of use
Example
Fabric fading under normal sun exposure is covered. Rips, tears, or mechanical breakage caused by misuse are not covered.
Warranty Claim Process

Contact us
Email support@patioslife.ca within the applicable warranty period. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos from multiple angles. -
Review and approval
Our team will review your submission to confirm eligibility. We may request additional details or a short video. In some cases we may ask you to return the item for inspection. -
Resolution
If the claim is approved, we will arrange a repair, a replacement of comparable product or component, or a refund. Shipping costs for valid claims are covered by Patioslife. If a claim is ineligible, return shipping may be the customer’s responsibility. -
Timing
We aim to review claims within 7 to 10 business days. Insufficient documentation may lead to delays or denial.
UV Resistance Disclaimer
Our fabrics are manufactured with UV resistant properties and are tested for lightfastness with reference to AATCC 16 methods. Testing may indicate UV blocking performance up to 98 percent. Actual protection can vary with environmental conditions, installation, and care. A copy of test certification is available upon request.

Limitations and Legal Disclaimer
This warranty is offered in place of all other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. Patioslife is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the product, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Canadian consumer protection laws. Provincial or territorial laws may provide additional rights. For residents of Quebec, certain exclusions or limitations may not apply under the Civil Code of Quebec.
